Some dresses require much more than a simple alteration — they require a complete custom approach ✨ For this gown, I had to: • reshape and reduce the bust area • remove excess fabric in the back for a better fit • carefully hand-remove lace appliqués and restore them back into place • reset the zipper after the adjustments • hem the entire dress while working with horsehair braid for structure and movement Every detail had to be reconstructed by hand to keep the original design looking seamless and natural. Work like this takes patience, precision, and many hours behind the scenes — but seeing the final result makes it all worth it 🤍 This is why bridal and formal alterations are truly an art, not just sewing 🤍👗Prom season in the U.S. is one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year for a tailor! ✨ Prom is a very special night for students — a moment they remember for years. And the dress has to be just right: the perfect fit, the right length, secure straps, comfortable cups, and every detail adjusted so you can enjoy the evening with confidence 💃 Most prom dresses are designed for model proportions, not real bodies — that’s why alterations make such a big difference. Hemming, taking in the waist, adjusting straps, reshaping cups, adding support, fixing slits, or creating a custom fit can completely transform how a dress looks and feels. During prom season my schedule fills up quickly, so if your dress needs adjustments, it’s best to plan ahead. I always do my best to help everyone leave happy and confident for their big night 💛🤍👗If you’ve taken your measurements and find that you fall between two sizes (for example, M and L), it’s better to choose the larger size (L). It’s much easier to take a dress in than to make it bigger later. If you choose the smaller size, there may not be enough extra fabric to adjust it, and the dress cannot be let out.
